Supporting Reluctant Learners
The 'A 4 Achievement Programme' has a highly flexible syllabus and can be adapted to re-engage reluctant learners back into the joys of learning as the testimonial below bears witness:
"John has had problems achieving and making progress in his learning principally because of his negative attitude towards himself. He rarely completed a piece of work and lacked the confidence to attempt work unless an adult was with him. By the end of last term he had written a story without adult help and was pleased with himself and what he had achieved. Instead of saying "I'm stupid" or "I'm thick", he now says "I'm a genius". This is such a significant development for him. The assembly where they presented the work they have done with you also shows how much more confidence he now has to speak publicly".
Ms M Simpson, Class Teacher, The Rangefield Primary School
With our input de-motivated young people will learn how to fish for themselves, rather than being given fish, metaphorically speaking:
"... I don't think anyone else could have helped me more at this time in my life the way Gayle has helped me as she has shown me how to help myself which is most important of all."
Ashley S, aged 17 years
When they do this their self identity is enhanced as a by-product:
"The feelings that I had before and after the session were different. I feel being a most respectful and intelligent man in the future. I have never felt this feeling before.... I feel free to do anything I want"
Johnson B, Aged 15 years
